Sims 4 Settings Keep Resetting: Solutions

Solution: 1

Try running the game as an administrator by right-clicking on the icon and selecting “Run as administrator.” It’s possible that your current settings prevent the game from writing to the folder where your settings are saved, which means that your settings will be lost when you close the game.

Solution: 2

But if you don’t t have a graphics card then Go to DocumentsElectronic ArtsThe Sims 3 and delete the options.ini file. It could be broken and not save your changes. The message about the graphics card is also normal if you have a new copy of options.ini or one that doesn’t keep track of how many times it told you about the unrecognized graphics card. But first you need to take care of the resetting options file.

Solution: 3

Origin has nothing to do with this. Options. ini is a file for a game. If it’s not creating where it should by default (local Documents), check your cloud folder (like OneDrive) for a second Electronic Arts folder.

Since you’ve changed the file but it doesn’t show up in the game, the copy you’re working on is not the one the game is using. But it does make a new one because the game needs it. you’re just not looking in the right place.

You can also go to options > screen capture to see which path your game is really taking. That will show you where screenshots and videos are saved, so the root Sims 4 folder shown there is also where the right Options.ini will be.
