In the flashback, we see a younger-looking Reginald tending to Abigail’s bedside, as she is suffering from a terminal illness and won’t live much longer.
In a touching scene, Abigail begs Reginald to give her prized violin to “someone who’ll love it as much as I have,” to which Reginald responds, “I can’t leave you, there must be another way.”

Reginald wins the ultimate long game by using the Umbrellas and the remaining Sparrows to power up the machine that will let him reset the universe.
