Valverde Punching Baena Video News: There was bad blood between Real Madrid and Villarreal after a game, and it was for a very serious reason.

ESPN says that Federico Valverde, a midfielder for Real Madrid, punched lex Baena, a winger for Villareal, after waiting for him by the Villareal team bus in the parking lot of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium on Saturday.

During a Copa del Rey game between the two teams on January 19, Baena, who is 21 years old, is said to have said to Valverde, “Cry, because your child won’t be born,” which translates to “cry because your child won’t be born.”

In February, Valverde’s girlfriend Mina Bonino allegedly posted on social media that she and Valverde thought they had lost an unborn child. This made the situation clear. Apparently, more tests showed that the pregnancy was still healthy, but Baena wouldn’t have known that during the Copa del Rey game.

Valverde, who is 24, was reportedly angry about the comments, so he went up to Baena after Villareal’s 3-2 win on Saturday and asked him to repeat what he supposedly said on the field. This is what led to the punch.

Villareal and Baena reportedly didn’t confirm the story about Valverde’s punch, but they did say they didn’t like what he did. The club is said to have talked to the Spanish police about possible next steps, and Baena will decide for himself if he wants to press charges.

Xisco Nadal, a Villareal team delegate, responded by tweeting “Fede Valverde macarra y cobarde,” which roughly means “thuggish and cowardly.” He deleted the tweet after a lot of backlash, though.

Valverde is from Uruguay and joined Real Madrid in 2017. Since then, he has become one of the best players for Los Blancos. Baena grew up with Villareal and this is his first season as a regular player for the top club.
