Twitter maps show tornado’s path through New Orleans

Maps that were shared on Twitter show the path of a tornado through the New Orleans metro area in December 2022. On Thursday, there could be more tornadoes in Florida.

On Wednesday, December 14, a violent tornado hit New Iberia and damaged several homes and a hospital before moving to the New Orleans area.

There are 15 active tornado warnings because of the bad weather that caused tornadoes in Texas and Louisiana. Also, more than 40,000 people in New Orleans were left without power on Wednesday night.

After the damage in New Orleans, we have put together several maps of where the tornado went.

At 4 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Weather Nation tweeted that there was a tornado in New Orleans. The tornado was confirmed to be moving northeast toward Arabi and the Lower 9th Ward.

Seven tornadoes happened on Wednesday in south Louisiana

The National Weather Service confirmed that seven tornadoes happened on Wednesday in south Louisiana.

The bad weather has affected the places of Donaldsonville, Covington, Hammond, and Port Sulphur.

Fox Weather says that three people died in Louisiana because of the tornado. Two of them died in Caddo Parish and the other one died in St. Charles Parish.

In March, two tornadoes killed a 25-year-old man and damaged property, according to another report from Fox Weather. At the time, other places like Orleans, St. Bernard, St. Tammany, and Jefferson were also affected.

Parts of Florida are expecting bad weather

Parts of Florida are expecting bad weather, and a tornado watch has been extended until 4 p.m. EST on Thursday, December 15.

“The tornado watch has been extended south across Florida and will now last until 4 p.m. EST,” says Weather Nation. A few tornadoes and damaging winds of up to 70 miles per hour are possible.

In another post, the outlet says, “A line of strong thunderstorms is coming ashore just north of Tampa, Florida. There could be gusty winds and even one or two tornadoes in these storms.

“Strong rotation is moving toward southern Pasco County, according to radar. If a warning is given, get inside!”
