If season 3 of Ted Lasso had come out when season 2 did, it probably would have been in the fall of 2022. (or autumn if you prefer).
But it’s clear that this didn’t happen because the filming took longer than expected, so season 3 won’t come out until 2023 instead.
But this is making us think. The delays could give Apple TV+ the perfect chance to release season 3 so that the finale comes out at the same time as the end of the real-life Premier League season. This would allow excitement to build as both the episodes and the real-life games wound down.
As of now, the last round of Premier League games is set to take place on Sunday, May 28. If Ted Lasso season 3 ended the Friday before, on May 26, the 12-episode season would start on March 10, 2023, according to our best guess.

But while season 2 only took six months to film, Ted Lasso season 3 took a whopping eight months. Filming didn’t end until November 18, 2018.
There are rumors that the longer filming schedule is because the show’s scripts were changed a lot in the middle of production. This was done partly to improve the scripts that were already written and partly to avoid problems caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
ComicBook.com says that the Ted Lasso crew was supposed to film at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge stadium, but they couldn’t because the club’s former owner, Roman Abramovich, was trying to sell the team.

The storyline for Ted Lasso’s third season has been set up over the last two chapters.
After winning promotion in season 2, Ted’s team, AFC Richmond, is back in the Premier League. Lasso said in the last episode of season 1 that he hopes his team can “win the whole thing.”
Richmond will have to work hard to win the league, especially since Rebecca’s ex-husband, Rupert, bought West Ham United and put Nate, who is getting more and more angry, in charge as manager.
