Siddharth Rao WebChutney’s co-founder has died at age of 43: At the age of 19, he founded Webchutney, which went on to become the Indian advertising agency that won the most awards at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in 2019.

According to reports from various sources, Sidharth Rao, who had co-founded one of India’s first and most successful digital agencies known as Webchutney, has passed away at the age of 43.

On Friday evening, he passed away. His wife and his parents are the only people he leaves behind.

At the age of 19, he founded Webchutney, which went on to become the Indian advertising agency that won the most awards at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in 2019.

In 2008, he was responsible for the incubation of Network Play under Webchutney, which, in a period of fewer than three years, grew to become the largest brand ad-network and was subsequently purchased by Bertelsmann AG.

The Japanese multinational media network Dentsu Aegis Network completed the acquisition of Webchutney in the year 2013. In 2021, in addition to continuing in his role as head of Webchutney, he was also given the responsibility of leading the India unit of dentsuMB, the newly reorganized global creative network of the company.

In 2022, Rao resigned his position as group CEO of dentsuMB India and, together with Madhu Sudan, launched a new business in the marketing technology (MarTech) space under the name Punt Partners. Madhu Sudan was a serial entrepreneur.
