Salinas High Stabbing Video Reddit: A 16-year-old girl is getting care at a hospital in Salinas on Thursday night after a classmate at Salinas High School stabbed her several times.
A spokesperson for the Salinas police department said Thursday night that the event was reported at 1:21 p.m. Officers went to the school at 726 S. Main St. and found the girl, who had been stabbed several times in the upper part of her body. She was taken to the hospital right away.
Probation police held the suspect, a boy who was 17 years old. The knife, which was about 2 to 3 inches long, was found.
The boy was taken to the Monterey County Juvenile Hall on charges that he tried to kill someone.

A video that was shared on social media shows that the fight happened near the school field.
Police said that a 17-year-old male student stabbed a 16-year-old boy several times with a two- to three-inch pocket knife. Burns says that the girl was taken to the hospital with injuries that did not put her life in danger.
The suspect was taken into custody by Salinas police, and he was then charged with trying to kill someone and sent to Juvenile Hall.
Burns said that the fight at Everett Alvarez High School on Thursday morning had nothing to do with the stabbing at Salinas High School.

A mom who didn’t want to be named said that her three kids and other family members go to Salinas High School. One of her kids saw her get stabbed, which happened at lunchtime.
Parents were waiting outside of Salinas High School for their kids to come out of lockdown so they could see them again.
A mom said that her child saw the stabbing and ran to call her to come get him. When she got in her car to go to school, she was very upset about what had happened.
“When I asked my son if he was OK, his answer was,” said a parent who didn’t want to be named. “He told me, ‘No, Mom, I’m traumatized,'” which is scary for a parent to hear.
She also said that tomorrow is the last day of school for her kids before they get out for the summer.
The anonymous parent said, “It’s finals week, and it’s causing a lot of stress on our kids.”
The mom who didn’t want to be named said that the school told her around 2:00 p.m. that they were on lockdown.
She said that the alert came a little too late and that the school should have told parents about the problem sooner. Some parents said behind the scenes that they didn’t even know the school was on lockdown.
