Parkash Singh Badal Punjab Chief Minister Dies At 95: Prakash Singh Badal, the leader of the Shiromani Akali Dal and a five-time Chief Minister of Punjab, died on Tuesday night at 8 pm.
He was 95 years old. Badal, who is known as a leader in bringing Hindus and Sikhs together in Punjab, was taken to Fortis Hospital in Mohali last week because he was having trouble breathing. When his pain got worse on Friday, he was moved to the ICU. According to the hospital, he died around 8 p.m.
He was the youngest and oldest leader of Punjab at the time. He was 43 years old when he became the first Chief Minister, in 1970. He was then the youngest Chief Minister of Punjab.
Badal became the oldest CM in 2012, when he was 84 years old. In 2015, the Indian government gave him the Padma Vibhushan, which is the second-highest civilian honor in the country.
He will always be remembered for his work to keep Hindus and Sikhs in Punjab getting along.

Parkash Singh Badal died on Tuesday at a private hospital in Mohali. He had been the chief minister of Punjab five times and was the leader of the Akali Dal. He was 95.
“Despite the best care from doctors, S. Parkash Singh Badal died of his illness. “Fortis Hospital Mohali is very sad about the death of S. Parkash Singh Badal,” the hospital said in a statement.
Abhijeet Singh, the head of the hospital, told PTI that the leader of Punjab died around 8 p.m.
Before a week, the former chief minister went to Fortis Hospital in Mohali because it hurt him to breathe.
Before running for the first time as a Congressman in 1957, when he was 30 years old, the veteran leader worked his way up the political ladder by being a village sarpanch.
Parkash Singh Badal was the youngest person to ever lead the state of Punjab as Chief Minister. He was 43.
