Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals will now come out in 2023 instead of 2022.

Night School Studio says it is delaying the release to “make Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals the best game it can be.”

The studio tweeted over the weekend, “We owe it to our great community to make Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals the best game it can be.”

Night School tweeted, “Seeing your fan art, reading your excited comments, and connecting with you makes us want to make this our best game yet.” “We’re moving the release window for Oxenfree II to 2023 so we can make it truly unique and add more localizations.

Night School Studio, which made the acclaimed narrative adventure Oxenfree and its highly anticipated sequel, was recently bought by Netflix. It’s probably not a surprise, then, that Oxenfree: Netflix Edition, which is now available on mobile, is being called “the best experience of Oxenfree to date.”

Night School’s four games since its start in 2014 have earned it a reputation for being interesting, well-written adventures with a strong focus on the story.

After 2016’s critically acclaimed Oxenfree, the developer released 1.51exfiltrati0n, a tie-in for Mr. Robot that was also well received. Afterparty, a pub crawl through hell, and Next Stop Nowhere, an Apple-only space adventure, came next.

The new bad guys in Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals are so strong that they have been breaking into the source code of the first game.
