The lobby disconnect issues in the beta version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 have been fixed: Infinity Ward is working on a fix for one of the most common complaints from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players, which is that lobbies don’t break up properly after each game. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is having an open beta right now, which means that all PC, Xbox, and PlayStation users can try it out.

Before, only people who had pre-ordered Modern Warfare 2 on PlayStation could play the beta. Eventually, though, it became available to everyone. The beta for Modern Warfare 2 runs until September 26, so players have a couple of days to try it out.

Developers usually use these beta events to get feedback, and Infinity Ward has been keeping users up to date on how they plan to fix different problems. Now, it looks like the developer wants to fix one of the biggest problems that Call of Duty players have been talking about.

Infinity Ward says that it does hear complaints about how Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s lobbies break up after every game. The developer is working on a few changes that will make it more likely that lobbies will stay together, and it will also make it easier for players to share this information while they are playing.

Infinity Ward doesn’t say anything else about how this will work, so players might have to wait until the full release to see the changes.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players have been trying to ask for persistent lobbies for a while. It seems like a lot of fans like how this makes the game more social, since they can make friends and foes over the course of several games.

At the moment, players can only choose their favorite game modes and click Quick Play, which will look for matches from these choices. After every game, the lobby is cleared out and the matchmaking system starts a new search.

Even though Infinity Ward doesn’t promise to bring back persistent lobbies, the fact that the complaint is being looked into is probably good news for the users.

But it looks like the new changes will only make it more likely that a lobby will stay together. Maybe Infinity Ward can add a switch to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 menu so that players can turn on persistent lobbies if they want to. On the other hand, these options could split the player base, which could change how the matchmaking system works as a whole.
