Live traffic on the M1: A crash has blocked the road, and a truck is on fire

After a crash in Buckinghamshire today, the M1 is closed (Tuesday, July 5). On the motorway, there was a crash between two trucks.

The accident happened on the northbound M1 between Junction 14 with the A509 in Milton Keynes and Junction 15 in Northampton. A fire broke out in one of the trucks.

The police and fire departments have rushed to the scene. Because of the accident, traffic is stopped.

The traffic data company Inrix first heard about the accident at 3:18 p.m. Inrix said: “Due to an accident with two lorries, the northbound M1 is closed and traffic is backed up from J14 A509 (Milton Keynes) to J15 A45 (Northampton).

Since 15:15, it has been closed, and one of the trucks is on fire. Just over a mile of traffic is stopped because of the closure, and southbound lanes 3 and 4 (of 4) are closed so that fire services can get there. Diversion: Hollow Diamond diversion symbol, A509 westbound through Milton Keynes, A5 northbound, and A508 through Road.”
