In Hogwarts Legacy, you have to press and hold the button that brings up the tool wheel before you can use potions. You need to press and hold L1 on a PlayStation. On Xbox, press and hold the LB button.

In Hogwarts Legacy, you need to get both the Maxima and Edurus Potions before you can use them at the same time. Going to J. Pippin’s Potions is the easiest way to do this.
Each one of them costs 300 coins. You can also make them on your own, but that’s not the point. When you have both potions, put them both in your tool wheel.
Then, press and hold the tool wheel button, choose Maxima, let go, and press the same button again to drink it. Then do the same thing quickly for Edurus.
