How to Unlock Traversal Skills in Xenoblade Chronicles 3? With its fourth installment, the popular JRPG is back with a lot of new and old game mechanics.

If you’ve played Xenoblade Chronicles games before, you know how important your party and the skills they share, like Ouroboros, Affinity, and other skills that the whole group uses, are.

Traversal Skills are also one of these. But many players are confused because they have no idea why they are completely locked. So, how do you unlock Traversal Skills in Xenoblade Chronicles 3? Read on to learn.

How to Unlock Traversal Skills in Xenoblade Chronicles 3

As you progress through Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s main story, you will naturally unlock a large number of Party Skills. You’ll find three tabs there: Traversal Skills, Affinity Bonuses, and Meal Effects.

While Affinity Bonuses and Meal Effects are relatively simple to comprehend, the Traversal Skills tab has many players baffled.

This tab contains four locked slots. Obviously, players would expect at least a brief description of how to unlock these skills, if not more. Unfortunately, there is nothing to help us comprehend this.

We will explain what you need to do, so have no fear! In Xenoblade Chronicles 3, you will unlock Traversal Skills by completing specific Hero Quests.

For example, the first Traversal Skill, Wall Climbing, is unlocked once The Kind Right-Hand hero quest for Valdi has been completed. Then, Valdi will join your party, and you’ll “inherit” his traversal ability.

The same applies to all other traversal abilities. We will not reveal every detail, but as you complete additional Hero Quests, you will gain access to the remaining traversal skills.

As foreshadowing, you can already find on the map some symbols indicating what other traversal skills are forthcoming.
