In God of War, the search for Tyr Ragnarok brings Kratos and Atreus to The Applecore mine, but the last door is out of range.
The Applecore is a mine in the realm of Svartalfheim that Atreus thinks is holding Tyr, the God of War. There are many doors in the mine, and each one has its own dangers, but none of them lead to the lost Tyr.
The path leads Kratos and Atreus to one final door, which is their last chance of finding Tyr. It’s on one side of a big gap that looks like it can’t be crossed. Players have to solve a puzzle to get to the other side, but it’s not as easy as it looks.
How to Reach the Final Door in The Applecore
First, go to the left and jump over the small gap. Help Atreus get to the edge of the ledge. He will move to a crank on the other side of a big water wheel.
On his lower right, there is a second water wheel in front of a water chute. Use the Leviathan Axe to block the water just after the waterwheel. This will cause the water to overflow and turn the wheel.
Tell Atreus to turn the crank, and big green Sound Stones will come out. Since the Axe froze the water, the stones won’t move. They’ll also stop the water from flowing instead of the frozen ice, so you can take the axe away safely and the wheel should still turn.
Move to the other water chute, which is next to the big chain. Freeze it so that the water runs out, which will turn the wheel and lift the chain. This will give you a place to swing from so you can get to the platform on the other side.
Shoot an arrow from Atreus at the green Sound Stones that blocked the water before. This will stop the wheel from turning, and the platform Kratos is standing on will move to the other side, toward the door. Now you can hop to the door and open it.
