Ability Patches can only be gotten in one way right now, which is a shame. And the way to do that is to finish Tera Raid Battles. When you win a six-star Tera Raid Battle, the item will drop as a reward.
To be more specific, it is a reward for completing 6-Star Black Crystal Tera Raid Battles. You can get these after you win the Academy Ace Tournament.
And you can only do that after you finish the whole base story. So, you still have a long way to go before you can use Hidden Abilities.
There really aren’t any rules here. By this point in the game, you probably already have a good plan for how to play and know which Pokemon’s Hidden Ability you want to unlock.
