Here is a full guide on how to farm Amethyst in Minecraft by taking a few simple steps. Onward!

Amethyst is a new mineral that was added to the Minecraft world. It is usually found in the Caves and Cliffs update part 1. Its amethyst geodes are underground, between Y levels 0 and 70, in the large groups of the overworld. And, as has been seen, they sometimes lay eggs partly above the surface, usually on beaches or underwater.

Amethyst isn’t hard to find in Minecraft, but it can be hard to get it out of the ground. Here is a quick guide on how to farm Amethyst in Minecraft. So, let’s get started without further ado!

How To Farm Amethyst In Minecraft

Amethyst is a key part of Minecraft that forces players to keep the drill moving as long as they are playing. According to the rules, they can’t move the bud Amethyst block in the game.

So, if they find an amethyst geode surrounded by smooth calcite and basalt layers, it is clear that they will get a bunch of amethyst blocks and bud amethyst blocks in the middle of the area anyway.

So, in Minecraft, to get Amethyst Shards, you must first mine them from geodes and then farm them from clusters.

Here are some ways to farm Amethyst in Minecraft –

1. Mine Amethyst Blocks From Geodes

In Minecraft, the first way to farm Amethyst is to take Amethyst blocks out of Geodes. To get the Amethyst buds from the walls of geodes, you need a Pickaxe that has the Silk Touch enchantment.

It’s also important not to take out the Amethyst blocks, because if you do, they’ll be gone, even if you’re using the Silk Touch enchantment. You should focus on the clusters of amethyst and collect the shards for farming or crafting. Amethyst blocks that are about to bloom sometimes grow on small buds outside of the geodes. But this is only likely to happen 20% of the time.

2. Grow Amethyst Shards From Cluster

Players can’t make amethyst farms because they only grow in certain geodes. The next step in learning how to grow Amethyst Shards in Minecraft is to get Amethyst from caves and restock.

Amethyst grows in two stages, and both of them happen on top of the blocks that are beginning to grow. A normal Amethyst block doesn’t have a crack in the middle, but the one that is “budding” does.

The Amethyst bud can only come from broken blocks. When this happens, a small Amethyst bud will grow into a medium one, and then into a large one. In the end, it will be made out of all the Amethyst pieces the player can find. Once you’ve mined the cluster and left the budding block there, you can come back and mine it again after it’s gone through its cycle. Here we are. You were able to get Amethyst from farming in Minecraft.

3. Third Way to Grow Amethyst Shards

Amethyst can be found in Minecraft between level 0 and level 70. This makes it a fairly common material in the game. But we don’t think players should dig straight down to find Amethyst. Instead, you can try one of the following ways to farm Amethyst in Minecraft:

Build a mine: Go down to level 12 or lower and stay there. This level gives you the chance to get Amethyst, as well as Gold, Diamonds, Lapis Lazuli, Redstone, and other valuable items. You can mine faster with the help of minecarts.
Check out the neighborhood: Amethyst geodes can be found in caves and gorges. Find these things in your world so you don’t have to dig.
Visit the ocean. You can find amethyst in the water or partly exposed on beaches. When looking for amethysts in the ocean, make sure you have tools to help you breathe.
