Max tries to jam as much love and support that he will miss with his teenage daughter Wally (Mia Isaac) into the limited time that they have left together so that he may make up for the years of missed time. Wally is played by Mia Isaac.
Together, they set out on a journey across the country, driving from California to New Orleans in the hopes that Max will be able to attend his 20th college reunion. At this event, Max has a secret desire to see Wally’s mother again, who had abandoned them when they were little.
