Does Freydis Die In Vikings Valhalla: What happened at the end of the second season of Vikings: Valhalla, and did Leif, Freydis, or Harald die in episode 8?

Vikings: Valhalla, the highly successful follow-up to Vikings, finally came back on January 12 with the premiere of its second season around the world.

Even though there is a lot of swinging of axes, breaking of oaths, and political maneuvering, it doesn’t take long for fans to watch all eight episodes of the second season in one sitting.

Here is a quick summary of how season 2 of Vikings Valhalla ended. Every fan wants to know if Leif, Friddis, or Harald made it out of the finale alive.

Does Freydis Die In Vikings Valhalla

After Jorundr tricked the invading army into trying to attack through the harbor, the young sailor was killed in the fight to take the sentinel catapult, but the group was able to send a message to the rest of Olaf’s ships.

As Olaf sails his men into the port, he has no idea that he has just led them into a trap. Freydis sneakily pulls the plugs out of underwater jars that contain oil that can catch fire. She then sets fire to the oil, which destroys all of Olaf’s remaining ships and people.

The two then fight a brutal back-and-forth battle on the beach, while King Kanute’s son Svein watches in shock.

Freydis is finally able to beat her long-time enemy. She puts a spear through his armpit and all the way through his body, “crucifying” the Christian warlord in the process.

When Leif and Harold get back to their camp, they find a group of soldiers from Constantinople waiting for them. To Harold’s dismay, the ruler of the famous city, Emperor Romanos, has personally come to meet him.

Romanos are interested in the party, but not because Eleana has a jewel on her. They are interested in Eleana because she is engaged to the Emperor. Eleana, who is frustrated by the fact that she has to hide who she is, explains that she had to do this so that Harold could get along with the very rich and powerful Romanos.

Back in Kattegat, when her son Svein just walks into the great hall, Queen lfgifu is surprised to see him. He was lucky to have the Keeper of the Faith to help him, and Freydis took off her clock to show the would-be Queen who she was.

Freydis tells Queen lfgifu that this alignment means peace between their two groups, and she nods in agreement as she hugs Svein. Freydis looks back at the place she used to call home one last time and walks out the main gate.

Leif and Harold finally get to Constantinople at the end of the second season of Vikings: Valhalla.

Fans of Viking Valhalla will be happy to hear that Netflix has already picked up the show for a third season.

The news came out in March 2022, at the same time that season 2 was confirmed to be going into production. No release date has been set for season 3, though.
