Does Alone Together Have a Post Credit Scene: Many people no longer think about the pandemic. Travel is as busy as ever, and it’s even worse now that people are running away to almost anywhere to get away from the reality they’ve had to deal with for more than two years. Katie Holmes’s latest film, Alone Together, is about the early days of the pandemic.
It’s about two strangers (played by Holmes and Jim Sturgess) who share an Airbnb in Upstate New York during the COVID-19 lockdown. As they try to get away from the reality of the COVID pandemic, these two people learn that a safe place isn’t always a place, but can also be a person.
Alone Together may feel a little too late now that so many people are back at work and life is getting back to something like normal, but it’s still worth watching.
ALONE TOGETHER Trailer (2022) Katie Holmes
Alone Together starts out like a movie version of Rachel Hollis’s “What is it about me that makes you think I want to be relatable?” from the year 2021. Katie Holmes plays June, a New Yorker who reviews restaurants and lives on the Upper West Side. She thinks she’s better than everyone else, and she doesn’t realize how condescending she sounds.
During the pandemic, she and her boyfriend John (Derek Luke) want to get away from the growing danger of COVID-19 by going on a romantic trip.
She gets mad when the subway slows down and trains that leave the city are late or don’t leave at all. She says she’s having a bad day, but the look on the ticket agent’s face says it all: June is out of touch. As June moves away from the way her life used to be, she starts to become the kind of person she wants to be.
