Destiny 2 crossplay not working : Solved

Destiny 2 crossplay not working: Even though Destiny 2 came out five years ago, Bungie’s online-multiplayer shooter is still going strong and changing all the time thanks to regular updates.

Destiny 2 isn’t exactly friendly to new players, but once you get into it (and we highly recommend playing with a group of friends), you’ll be hooked and probably set up regular Raids with your group.

Destiny 2, like Apex Legends, is a great first-person shooter (FPS). It’s also one of the best crossplay games right now because it lets players from all platforms play together, but it’s not available on Switch.

What if you are playing on PlayStation and they are playing on Xbox? Can you play Destiny 2 on different platforms at the same time? Destiny 2 crossplay not working? Let’s take a look.

Check if Destiny 2 servers are down

First, see if the servers for Destiny 2 are down. Players can’t always play with their friends, especially on other platforms, when there’s an outage or server downtime.

Turn Crossplay Off and then On

Second, turn off the option for crossplay and then turn it on again.

  1. Go to the Settings menu.
  2. Get to the Account tab.
  3. Toggle the Crossplay option and set it to Disabled.
  4. Then turn it back on and try joining a game again.

Remove and Re-add Friends

If that’s not the case, try taking the friends off and then adding them back. You will see two kinds of friends: friends from Activision and friends from the platform you are using.

Here’s how to add friends from other sites.

  1. From the game’s main menu, choose “Social.”
  2. On the Friends tab, click Invite Friends.
  3. To send an invite to a friend, click “Enter Account.”
  4. Type in your friend’s ID, which looks like PlayerName#.

If there was a bug with your account ID or Destiny 2 crossplay, this should fix it. But try it a few more times if it doesn’t work. If that doesn’t work either, we have to wait until the developers release a patch that fixes the problem.
