Dead Island 2 Download in Progress: If you’ve run into the “Dead Island 2 Download in Progress” error, you’re probably scratching your head and wondering what the heck went wrong.

I mean, it appears to be a pretty terrifying error message, especially considering the fact that it replaces a conversation prompt with an NPC that you are required to speak to. So, what exactly is going on, and what steps can you take to correct the situation? Let’s find out!

Dead Island 2 Download in Progress

The Download in Progress problem only happens in Dead Island 2 if you start playing before the game is done downloading and installing. For instance, PlayStation lets you start a game before the installation process is done.

It’s just a way to get your feet wet before diving in. But that also means that you can’t see the whole thing. The main menu is sometimes all you get.

In Dead Island 2, you can complete the “Desperately Seeking Emma” quest up to the “Help the injured couple” step. You need to talk to Joshua, but the prompt changes to “Download in Progress.” After the installation is done, you’ll be able to move on.

So, that’s what the Dead Island 2 Download in Progress problem is all about. Don’t worry, there’s nothing wrong with your game.

If you start playing before your platform is done downloading, you can only play until the end of the “demo” period. You’ll be fine after a while.

This is why I don’t really do any of this and just wait for the game to install completely. Still, Dead Island 2 does let you play a good chunk of the game right away.

Even so, keep in mind that after the download is done, you might have to restart the game for the changes to take effect.
