Ben Stiller as Larry Daley Cameo In Bros Explained: The main characters and supporting characters in the rom-com are good, but the Bros cameos might confuse some viewers. Bros is the first gay rom-com from a major studio, which is a big step forward for LGBTQ+ representation in media.

The cast and crew of the Universal Studios production are almost all LGBTQ+. The focus of the movie is an LGBTQ+ story told by people who have lived it, but there are a few fun cameos that stand out.

Bros shows how Bobby (Billy Eichner) and Aaron (Luke Macfarlane) fall in love and figure out how to be together. But it also has a lot to say about how the LGBTQ+ community has been portrayed in the media.

Some of this comes in the form of “Hallheart” movies, for which there are a number of parody posters and trailers that poke fun at how quickly some studios have jumped on the bandwagon to show sterilized versions of LGBTQ+ lives so soon after saying they wouldn’t touch them.

Ben Stiller’s Bros makes a cameo after what seems to be an off-hand joke about Aaron’s idea to make the LGBTQ+ museum more accessible.

Aaron talks about the exhibits coming to life like in Night at the Museum, as well as Bobby makes a joke about famed straight actors playing holographic images of LGBTQ+ historical figures.

This ends up happening in a strange way at the end of Bros. Museum. Ben Stiller shows up as Larry Daley, his Night at the Museum character who works as a security guard, and introduces the other holograms.

The third Night at the Museum movie came out in 2014. The fourth movie, Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again, is set to come out in December 2022, but it will be an animated movie. Neither Ben Stiller nor Larry Daley are expected to return, so Stiller’s Bros cameo might be the last time he plays the nightwatchman.
