Ankh shield terraria: Complete guide

by Narendra

Most shields in the Ankh shield terraria let you cancel out the effects of being knocked back, wouldn’t it be better to get a shield that does a lot more than just that one simple thing?

So, the Ankh Shield comes into play here. This is a Hardmode shield that protects the player from getting knocked back and gives them eleven more resistances on top of that.

Ankh shield terraria

Ankh shield terraria shield has one of the most complicated crafting trees in Terraria. Only two other items have more complicated crafting trees.

You’ll also need to put a lot of time and resources into your game to make this shield, but hopefully this guide will help you reach your goal as quickly and easily as possible.

  • Type: Accessory.
  • Defence: 4.
  • Immunities: Knockback, Slow, Darkness, Burning, Chilled, Silenced, Cursed, Broken Armor, Weak, Poisoned, Confused and Bleeding.

How to get the Ankh Shield in Terraria

The Ankh Shield is a hard mode item made by putting together the Ankh Charm and the Obsidian Shield. To make the Ankh Charm, you will need nine things from your world: vitamins, an adhesive bandage, a nazar, a three-fold map, armor polish, a bezoar, a megaphone, a fast clock, and a blindfold. When you have all of these, you won’t get knocked back or most other negative effects.

The Ankh Shield is a piece of gear that needs to be made. This means you’ll need to pull out your trusty Tinkerer’s Workshop for another big craft tree upgrade. The Ankh Shield has the third biggest crafting tree in Terraria. Only the Cell Phone and the Zenith are bigger. It needs a lot of different things, so it’s best to try to get them as you go through the game.

Crafting the Ankh Shield

The Ankh Shield is made in four main steps: making an Obsidian Shield, making the pieces of the Ankh Charm, making the Ankh Charm, and then making the Ankh Shield.

Crafting an Obsidian Shield

The shield part of the Ankh Shield is the first basic part you need. The Obsidian Shield fills this role. It is an item that makes you immune to being knocked back and to fire blocks.

With a Cobalt Shield and an Obsidian Skull, you can make an Obsidian Shield at a Tinkerer’s Workshop.

Cobalt Shields are easy to find, but they aren’t made of the actual material in Terraria called cobalt. Instead, they are found in Locked Golden Chests in the Dungeon. This means you have to kill Skeletron and look through a few chests until you find it.

Since it is made of obsidian, the Obsidian Skull is a lot more obvious. It can be made at a Furnace, Hellforge, or Adamantite/Titanium Forge with 20 pieces of obsidian.

Obtaining a Blindfold

Start with the blindfold, which is the first thing you need for the Ankh Charm. This is the only thing in the recipe that can’t be made from other things. Instead, it cancels out effects on its own and protects the player from the Blindness debuff.

Slimes and mummies in the Corruption/Crimson biome drop the Blindfold. The best place to farm it is in a Corrupted/Crimson Desert biome, where both slimes and mummies can spawn.

Making a Bracing for Armor

The Armor Bracing is the next step in this long process of making things. This item can be made at a Tinkerer’s Workshop with Armor Polish and Vitamins. It makes you immune to the Broken Armor and Weak debuffs.

Armor Polish can be found in the Cavern layer by killing Armored Skeletons. These Skeletons can appear anywhere in the Caverns, so you can farm them along with other enemies in the Caverns.

Corruptors and Floaty Grosses are the ones who drop vitamins. Corruptors are easy to find because they spawn in the Corruption biome on the surface, and farming for the Blindfold can be done at the same time. The Floaty Grosses are a bit harder to find. They can be found in the Underground Crimson biome, and farming for Armor Polish can be done at the same time.

Making a Bandage with Medicine

The Medicated Bandage is one of the best parts of the Ankh Charm. It makes you immune to both the Poison and Bleeding debuffs, which are two of the worst in the game. With a Bezoar and an Adhesive Bandage, it can be made in a Tinkerer’s Workshop.

The Bezoar is easy to make, and you might be able to get it by just exploring the Jungle biome. It is dropped by enemies like Hornets, Moss Hornets, and Toxic Sludges that can poison you.

The Adhesive Bandage is similar because enemies that make you bleed are about as common as enemies that make you sick. Rusty Armored Bones, Werewolves, and Angler Fish all drop it.

Making the Anti-Blessing Mantra

The Countercurse Mantra is the next one. It protects you from being Cursed and Silenced. These debuffs don’t happen as often as the others, but they’re still a huge pain when they do. With a Megaphone and a Nazar, it can be made at a Tinkerer’s Workshop.

The Megaphone is dropped by many enemies, but the Pixies and Dark/Blood Mummies are the most important. Since you may already be collecting mummies for the Blindfold, this may be a good choice. Even if you already have the Blindfold, Pixies drop something else that can be used to make the Ankh Charm.

The Nazar can be found in the underground Corruption, Crimson, and Hallow biomes. It drops from enemies with rare glowing weapons. Even so, these aren’t the best to farm because they don’t show up very often. Cursed Skulls and Giant Cursed Skulls in the Dungeon are the best enemies to farm. Even so, they’re not as hard to find as the enemies with weapons.

Setting up the plan

The last thing you need to complete the Ankh Charm. You can make the Plan with a Fast Clock and a Trifold Map. It will protect you from the terrible Confusion and Slowness effects.

Fast Clocks drop from Pixies, as was already said, but they also drop from Wraiths, which are easy to get by breaking down Demon/Crimson altars. Normal Mummies also drop them, so a pure Desert biome is a good place to farm them.

The Trifold Map can be dropped by enemies with the Confusion debuff, which is not very common. Light Mummies and Clowns that appear during the Blood Moon will drop it. But the Giant Bat is the best enemy to farm for it because, like normal bats, it will fly right at you and spawn in a lot of them in the Cavern Layer.

How to make the Ankh Charm and the Ankh Shield

Now, go to your Tinkerer’s Workshop with your Blindfold, Armor Bracing, Medicated Bandage, Countercurse Mantra, and The Plan to make the Ankh Charm. Now you can combine it with your Obsidian Shield at a Tinkerer’s Workshop to finish the crafting tree and get rid of any debuff you can think of.

The Ankh Shield is used

Since it’s a piece of gear, all you have to do to use it is put on the Ankh Shield. Once you do this, you are no longer affected by knockback and a long list of other negative effects:

  1. Bleeding
  2. Broken armor, on fire, and confused
  3. Cursed
  4. Darkness
  5. Poisoned
  6. Silenced \sSlow \sWeak
  7. Chilled
