Extraordinary Attorney Woo had been the most popular Korean drama of the summer, but with more episodes, Alchemy of Souls has risen to become one of the most popular shows of the past few months.

The hit show was very popular both in South Korea and around the world. Season 1 (part 1) ended on August 28.

The good news is that the release date for season 2 of Alchemy of Souls has finally been set, and a new teaser trailer has also been released.

The tvN Twitter account just posted a new teaser trailer for season 2 of Alchemy of Souls and confirmed that the second part of the series will start airing in Japan on December 10.

The post also confirmed that there was a three-year gap between episode 20 and episode 21 of season 1:

Back on June 14, four days before the show started, Naver News said that Alchemy of Souls would be split into two parts, with season 1 having 20 episodes and season 2 having 10 episodes.

Director Park Joon-hwa was quoted as saying, “When I wrote the script for the first time, there were different stories, the plot was interesting, there were sharp conflicts, and there were different stories about each family and each relationship. I was too busy to have fun with the tiki-taka.”

Then, Naver News shared a follow-up story that said season 2 would “be shown next December,” which means in December 2022.

The second half of the K-drama Alchemy of Souls is said to have started filming in early July. The most recent update from Naver News says that “all filming is set to end this fall.”

Fans in South Korea and all over the world have been very excited about Alchemy of Souls.

Domestically, the series has been the most-watched show in its time slot (both in the U.S. and in Seoul) the whole time it has been on, with a peak of 2.410 million viewers for episode 20.

The K-drama has also gotten good reviews from people all over the world on user-review websites. Some of these are an 89% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, an 8.7/10 rating on IMDB, a 9/10 rating on MyDramaList, and a 91% rating on AsianWiki.
